It begins when the school bell rings, and the world outside asks who we’ll become. In these hours, character takes root. In teamwork, in courage, in the quiet moments of trying again. Here, young minds learn that greatness isn’t given, it’s grown. Through mentors who listen, through challenges that teach resilience, through communities that believe every child has a story worth building. Because character isn’t found, it’s built.
After School Programs
Since 2001, Team Prime Time has turned the most dangerous hours of the day, 3 to 6 p.m., into the most valuable. The formula is simple. Give students a safe alternative to the streets. Surround them with caring adults at a low staffing ratio. Offer programs that show students what they are capable of. Build in them the means and motivation to pursue the dreams borne of their newfound success.
Success Stories
The proof is in the students. Young people who arrive unsure of themselves leave as mentors, athletes, artists, students, and leaders. They post stronger grades, better attendance, and leave with a sense of purpose. Behind every improved report card and graduation statistic is a young person who found a safe place, a caring adult, and a reason to believe in their own future. These are their stories.
Prime Time Games
®
Established in 2003 as the centerpiece of the leadership component, the Prime Time Games® is TPT’s evidence-based, full-inclusion sports program that gives two underserved populations from the same Title I school, lower-income youth and the students with disabilities they mentor, the chance to compete together and learn from one another, in the only league of its kind. Now also a standalone program, over 100 schools have participated nationwide to date.
